The PCLinuxOS IRC Guide
What is IRC?
- IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat and is an Internet service providing real time chat. IRC channels are the rooms for chatting hosted on IRC servers.
Get Support
Need help? Connect to the PCLinuxOS support channel to get assistance. How?
- Point your favorite IRC client to: irc.freenode.net or check the list of freenode servers.
- Join the #pclinuxos-support channel
Most likely your IRC client is preconfigured on PCLinuxOS, so you do not have to worry about this. To get more help with IRC check the [IRC_Guide | irc_guide] page.
If you come to #pclinuxos-support for support, just ask your question (the smart way), but please remember that not everyone seemingly “present” in the channel may be actively paying attention: they may be at work or they may be asleep. Ask anyway, or make a suggestion! Don't run away if you don't get an immediate reply, people may be busy or on the phone and get back to you later: give us some time.
